My sewing buddy is Cathy. She inspires to make projects together but in our own homes. We live over an hour from each other but she is soon moving a bit closer. She attends quilt meetings that I can’t go to and sends me pictures of others work. She also sees projects on Instagram that she sends. We occasionally get together and sew for hours but her friendship and getting to spend time together is my favorite part!

My sewing buddy is Dawn from church. We sew together for a day every two weeks. We both love working with our scraps and we work on charity projects. Right now we are working on NICU isolette covers for our local Children’s Hospital. They are small and manageable to complete on our own machines. We love to share what we are currently using for blocks and get idea from each other on how to use additional fabrics.

No sewing/quilting buddy for me. However, my inspiration comes from wonderful blogs and shops such as yours.

I dont actually have a sewing buddy, but my husband does hang out and watch movies in my sewing room so we have more time together!

My sewing buddy is Sparky the cat. I used to sew with friends but they were older and retired while I am still working so I don’t get to see them as often. In the meanwhile, sparky and I have them same hours and can hang out in the sewing area together. She sits on the table next to my sewing machine (or on the cutting table which is not helpful or safe) and keeps me company.

My sewing buddy is Linda – she heads a quilt guild that does lots of charity work. Her generosity inspires me to sew for charitable causes.

My quilting buddy is my best friend. We don’t live near each other but when we see each other, we get into major “trouble” shopping and sewing! Thanks for the give away.

  • Malea: March 28, 2017

My aunt! She gives the greatest advice and doesn’t make me feel silly for my dumb quilting questions!

My quilting buddy is one of my dearest friends named Kay. Kay used to live across the street from me when our kids were growing up. We did everything together—cook, shop, take our kids to the park, etc. We didn’t really have any time for quilting then. Gradually, as our kids became adults, we had more free time. Kay took up quilting. I had never been a crafty person, but I eventually took it up also so that we would still have something in common. Sadly, we live miles apart now and seldom see each other. But we still text about what quilt we just made, what fabric we just bought and what quilting retreat she just attended. She is miles ahead of me as far as quilting goes, so she inspires me to keep on sewing whenever I am feeling down.

My quilt buddies are every and all online commenting and blogging.

I learned to quilt in high school (39 years ago!) and have dabbled in between hockey, softball and soccer games….. as well as cooking, cleaning, working……..

Kids are grown and now I just compete with my own hobbies (cycling & hiking)….

    - and up until 6 mos. ago I didn’t think I could ‘do it all’. But thanks to all of you posting and sewing I have learned to make time- and wow, I wish I had video tutorials years ago!! I am mor adventurous than ever before- thanks to my blog and Pinterest friends.

I guess my husband—-he indulges my hobby and runs to the store if I need thread matched and hasn’t complained even though literally half his closet is where I keep my fabric stash :) Thanks for the chance to win!

  • Diana Fields: March 08, 2017

My quilting/sewing buddy is my cat Binkie. He loves to hang out with me in my sewing room. He is a big helper when I am positioning fabric to cut on my cutting table and he also helps by laying on my sewing machine extension table while I sew. I wouldn’t give up our times together for anything though.

  • Lori Morton: March 07, 2017

I am inspired by my very quilty Daughter! :) We sew together every chance we get…tho she lives in NC & I am in Ohio! We also stitch “Long-distance” together. We are working on quilts now..same pattern, different fabrics. Work on them when we get together..we have them pin basted & ready to quilt…may be finished before end of Summer! (we also work on different things on our own..but this is our favorite way to “Be together”. Miss her being close..8 hours is long way to just Pop-in. :)
