the first nine years of my life I lived in Pasadena, CA and I remember how our huge block was open for all kiddos on that block. The mothers would keep an eye out for all the kiddos. There was one house that had two older sisters living there. Every summer they had a vacation bible study in their home. And because all the moms knew these ladies, that is where we went every summer, four days a week. And they had the most wonderful snapdragon flowers in front and they encouraged all us kids to pick only one and we used it in the vacation bible time. Those two older sisters always made something special for all the kids for their birthdays
I remember walking around town and stopping to talk to everyone I knew. Wonderful memories
I remember walking around town barefoot and popping tar bubbles with my toes. We lived in a very small rural community with no sidewalks. The only other mode of transportation was a bicycle!
I loved the woods growing up. The wild flowers in the woods were beautiful also. Good luck everyone!!
I remember riding my bike 3 miles to play with my best friend. We lived in a rural area so there were no next door kids around. Good times!
Growing up I was my Daddy’s hunting and fishing buddy. Spent a lot of time in the woods and on the water with him. Miss that time spent with him and outdoors.
I grew up all over the world, but I guess, if I had to choose, I would have to pick Montreal, Canada was the city I spent my high school years. It may seem funny, but what I remember the most were the amazing snow storms we used to have: you could go to school in clear skies and walk home in snow up to your knees!!
I grew up in Arizona and I remember playing hide and seek at night with all the neighborhood kids! We were all in middle school..it was really too hot to play outside during the day…
This is such a cute fabric!
I grew up in a town of less than 1000. The thing I remember most is mom or dad giving my brother and I fifty cents every Saturday so we could go to the drug store/ soda fountain and buy anything we wanted. I always got a cherry phosphate, a Valomilk candy bar and some penny candy.
I remember playing outside in the dark with my friends. Back then, it was safe/
I remember going to Italian Grandmas house on Sunday afternoons and having wonderful meals.
I remember pulling my little red wagon in the summer going house to house on my street and all the ladies would give me there pop bottles to return, 5 min walk into town, I still live in our small town, and miss all those nice ladies.
My home town has small rock walls by the sidewalks. As a small child I walked on the walls while holding my Great Aunts hand.
I remember summer days, sitting outside eating popscicles and catching fireflies at night.
I remember Summer’s mostly, in the city! I lived in a neighborhood where everyone seemed like family. Summer’s were spent walking to the city pool and spending every minute I could there, eating popcorn with ketchup!
We had a park a the end of our street. Pool and all the swings and slides. We would head to the park after breakfast and not come home until dinner. Wow, those were great times. Learned independence, it is a same that kids now a days don’t have those chances.
I remember driving up and down main street after ball games, hanging out @ the local dairy queen or city cafe with friends and the closeness of our small class of 45. It was a great place to grow up.
I mostly remember riding my bike everywhere as a kid in my town growing up. Im not sure if that was due to the town or the times though. Oh the good old days!
I grew up In a very small town and remember in the summer being able to take off on our bikes in the morning, roam all over town and not get home until dinner and never have to worry about weird people abducting or trying anything wrong. Climbing trees, playing in the creek or whatever else, always fun.
